News.This year Tate Modern Gallery (London) celebrates its 10^th anniversary. The Tate Modern occupies the former Power Station building, which ceased its original functions in 1981.

The main events will take place on May, 2010, including the Birthday cake and ten year old children parade and No Soul for Sale festival.

Art Story.In 1982 Pierre-August Renoir who is known as a brilliant impressionist and the author of countless portraits who was just about to become a maitre met Richard Wagner and painted his portrait.

Wagner himself commented this work as “an embryo of an angel which an Epicurean had swallowed, thinking it was an oyster”.

Fortunately, Renoir received much more flattering though maybe less inventive reviews afterwards.

Practical Art Tourist Guide.It’s a well known fact that the Louvre offers free admission on certain days. Don’t forget, these days are the first Sunday of each month and 14^th of July.
